Empowering abilities and enriching lives
Why Star Abilities exists
Look past the disability or the diagnosis, and understand the whole person.
Founder, Star Abilities
Before starting Star Abilities, I spent years working across community services in Sydney: as a support worker, a domestic violence case worker and a support coordinator.
Support work showed me how much routine and trust matter. Case work taught me about risk, safety and advocacy. Support coordination showed me how participants, families and providers are meant to work together.
Then I worked for other providers, and the service kept becoming about filling shifts. That was never going to be enough for me.
I wanted a team that genuinely knew the people we support, understood their routines, and could tell when something had changed.
That is why I started Star Abilities.
Who we are today
We don't use the same support plan for everyone. Every plan is built side by side with the participant, around what they actually need.
Our role isn't to take over. It's to work alongside each person, at the level of support they actually want.

Why mental health matters to us
Mental health was present in every one of those roles. It is connected to every other part of a person's life.
Our experience is strongest in psychosocial disability and complex support needs, where trust and consistency make the difference.
That is why, wherever possible, we build a small, consistent team around each person.
Our team
Our support workers bring practical experience in disability support, mental health, community access and everyday living.
They are chosen for reliability, empathy and communication, and they come from different cultures and language backgrounds. That lets us match people on personality and communication style, not only availability.
Star Abilities is fully insured, and our support workers meet the screening and compliance requirements for their roles.
Where we work
We support people across Sydney, with our strongest local presence in the Eastern Suburbs.
Our local experience means we know the transport, the shops, the health services and the community programs in the area.
What we believe
- 01
Support starts with the person.
We listen to how you want to live, and shape support around that.
- 02
We work alongside you.
Practical help, without taking away your choice or control.
- 03
Good support is proactive.
We pay attention and respond when something isn't working.
- 04
Community means more than getting there.
Not dropping someone off, but staying alongside them.
- 05
Consistency builds trust.
Familiar support workers who know your routine and preferences.
- 06
We don't work in isolation.
Families and other professionals stay informed, and you decide who that includes.
